Boxmoor Trust Activity Day 2005

A children's activity day which included attempts to get everyone to make 'land art' in the woods around the Boxmoor Trust's Old Barn.

I may have been the only one, young or old, to embrace the idea, but it did whet my appetite.

Andy Goldsworthy can sleep happily in his bed - no competiton here! But I enjoyed the way the twigs followed the same contour and even though the pebbles made very small towers - from small acorns etc...

This 'beach-babe in a seaweed sarong with shells for a belt and matching bracelet' was fun and inspired a few other pebble based creations amongst the sand castles that day.

Streamside Walk

The object of this exercise was to find a photo and improve the composition. With overhanging trees, the path was very dark and the figure was further back and right in the centre. So I brightened up the whole scene and brought him closer. I used rather a lot of masking fluid! Watercolour on 160 gsm April 2005

I needed an illustration for a 'High Tea' invitation (as you do) at short notice and couldn't find any suitable clip art or stock photos so I did a quick line and wash of my Royal Denby. May 2006

White Kittens

This began as an exercise in simply getting used to putting paint on paper; seeing how the paint moved around and mixed.I gave the picture to a friend's daughter. I cropped the cat on the right off the picture and sold some copies on ebay in the ATC format. March '05

First Post

This is my 'KatharinesCreations' logo. My daughter when just a few months old the photo was edited with very basic 'posterisation'. Some posts will be drawings, some photos - others will be examples of cards or other crafts. Some things I do for myself, for the gratification of creating something, other things I have made for gifts or for sale. As far as possible I will put a date of when each item was created.
